Victorian Walnut Side Chair
I was given this chair by a client who thought I could use it for parts. However after a close examination I decided to do a complete restoration. The tenons on the front legs are broken off in the seat. The seat is caned but not in very good condition, some animal chewing damage on the edge and the supports from the seat to the back leg/uprights were missing. Among some other old parts he gave me included a pair of supports from another chair, but they do fit the location and are from the period. The upper cresting rail is damages on the top edge and the walnut burl veneer needs work.
